IVP
The International Volunteer Programme allows approved dental students, dentists, hygienists, assistants, and other volunteers to travel to Jamaica and participate in supervised community oral-health outreach.
- Orientation and team briefing
- Oral health education
- Examinations and referrals
- Cleanings, fillings, and simple extractions where appropriate
- Community service and Jamaican cultural experience

Community Outreach
FLOSS partners with schools, churches, NGOs, community groups, corporate organizations, and local leaders to deliver structured health fairs based on need, logistics, available volunteers, and safe clinical scope.
- School and community oral-health education
- Screening and triage
- Preventive services
- Clinical outreach where feasible
- Referral guidance for follow-up care
Organized outreach, not random pop-up dentistry.
Every programme is built around planning, consent, logistics, volunteer readiness, safety, and appropriate clinical supervision. Requests are reviewed before dates are confirmed, and volunteer roles are assigned based on training and event needs.
Education
We teach brushing, flossing, diet awareness, fluoride use, and prevention-focused habits.
Clinical Care
Where appropriate and safely supported, volunteers provide examinations, cleanings, fillings, and extractions.
Referral
Patients needing additional care receive referral guidance and follow-up recommendations.
