What We Do
Founded in 2017, FLOSS Jamaica brings clinical expertise and compassionate care to communities where dental access is limited.
Examinations, cleanings, fillings, extractions, and preventive treatment delivered free of charge.
School programmes, health fairs, and targeted community initiatives across all 14 parishes.
Structured volunteer missions for international dentists, hygienists, and dental students.
Empowering communities with knowledge for lifelong oral health and healthy habits.
Programmes
FLOSS Jamaica runs structured outreach programmes that connect volunteers, sponsors, schools, churches, NGOs, and communities with free oral-health education and supervised clinical services.
Dental students, dentists, hygienists, assistants, and approved volunteers travel to Jamaica to support community oral-health outreach under appropriate supervision.
FLOSS partners with schools, churches, community groups, NGOs, and corporate organizations to deliver structured outreach events based on need, logistics, and available volunteers.
Community Events
Tell us about your community's needs and we'll work with you to plan a meaningful event. Submitting a request does not guarantee a date — all events go through our structured review process.
Tell us who you expect to serve, the services needed, venue details, and demographics.
Our team determines staffing, supplies, and logistics for Low, Moderate, or High complexity events.
Once approved and scheduled, we assign volunteers, plan supplies, and coordinate with you.
Our team delivers care, captures anonymised health data, and issues referrals where needed.
Every request is evaluated and assigned a complexity level that determines the resources we deploy.
Factors include expected patient volume, services required, venue infrastructure, volunteer requirements, and special populations.
Submit a Request →FLOSS Jamaica may decline, modify, postpone, or cancel events due to weather, safety, volunteer shortages, supply shortages, venue or clinical concerns, or emergencies.
Get Involved
Whether you're a clinician from abroad or a local community champion, there's a role for you.
Join dentists, hygienists, and dental students from around the world on structured Jamaican missions. We handle orientation, scheduling, accommodation guidance, and clinical coordination.
Local dentists, students, drivers, community coordinators, media volunteers, and admin support are the backbone of everything we do on the ground.
Corporations and individuals can sponsor events, supplies, transportation, or volunteer placements. Bronze through Title Sponsor levels available with full impact reporting.
Since 2017
FLOSS Jamaica began as a community outreach initiative to support local dental health programmes where access to care is inadequate. The work continues through school outreach, local health fairs, oral-health education, supervised clinical care, and volunteer missions.
